What is The King Panda?

A Detroit business owner will soon face city scrutiny after permitting crypto-based prediction market platform Polymarket to paint an advertisement on a water tower located on his industrial property.

The Detroit Free Press reported on Wednesday (Sept. 16) that a water tower located northeast of the downtown city was recently painted and branded with Polymarket’s likeness. The water tower is located just off Interstate 94 at Mount Elliott Street, Exit 217.

The water tower is specifically located at the business of Mount Elliott Crushing, a recycler of concrete products. While the water tower is on private land, the City of Detroit requires that permits be secured for advertisements on such structures.

“This agreement strengthens our premium positioning while underlining our long-term commitment to Mexico, a market with an extraordinary passion for the NFL,” said Carlos Sabanza, director of sponsorships and public relations at Codere Online. 

By aligning with the NFL, Codere seeks to leverage marquee live events to boost customer engagement and enhance its offerings through unique fan experiences.

Mexico is one of the NFL’s most important markets outside the United States and a core market for Codere Online.

Within the report, Spectrum alleged “concerns around the availability of Evolution’s games in certain prohibited markets, the regulatory implications of its practices, and the lack of proactive monitoring of its customers”.

However the report confirms that Spectrum did not believe Evolution had engaged in any illegal practices.
